PSYCHOLOGY TEST

 
This is a very important test and is conducted once you have cleared the stage one testing (screening test).
This is a test of your psychology and in this your aptitude is checked with the help of the below tests.
1. TAT (Thematic Appreciation Test)
2. WAT(Word Association Test)
3. SRT(Situation Reaction Test)
4. SDT(Self-Description Test)


 
TAT (THEMATIC APPRECIATION TEST)
In this test a set of 12 pictures (11 pictures+1 blank slide) will be shown one-by-one with the help of a projector. The picture will be flashed on the screen for 1 minute and 4 minutes will be allotted to write a story. In the blank side you can write any story of your choice.
 
 
KEY POINTS ABOUT TAT
1. Picture should be seen critically; devote the entire 1 min. to see the picture and framing a good story.
2. Important factors like no. of characters, background etc. should be seen properly.
3. Story should contain a practical problem which can be solved by you.
4. You should keep in mind the fact that the center character depicts your personality; hence only write things which you can do by yourself.
5. Give a nice and short name to your central character. Avoid giving surnames.
6. The story must be properly framed and it should contain; what lead to the situation, the present happening and the final outcome. The present happening must contain the bulk of writing.
7. Try to make good stories based on social issues, and on adventurous activities.
8. Try to show qualities like courage, determination, discipline, leadership qualities etc. in the main character.
9. Don’t try to force your story. Always be with the picture.
10. Don’t make sad stories. Stories involving death scenes should be tactically handled.
 
 
WAT (WORD ASSOCIATION TEST)
In this test 60 words will be flashed on the screen. Each word will be flashed for 15 seconds (one after the other) and you have to write a sentence within 15 seconds. A break of 15 seconds is provided after every 15 seconds.
 
KEY POINTS OF TAT
1. A good speed must be maintained from starting; otherwise you may end up missing words in the end.
2. Try to do as many as you can.
3. Make meaningful and short sentences.
4. Make the minimum use of the words like should, must etc.
5. Try to write observational sentences (regarding news, current affairs and international relations) as much as you can.
6. Any cutting, chopping, spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes should be avoided.
7. Any personal sentences should be avoided.
 
 
SRT (SITUATION REACTION TEST)
In this test a booklet containing 60 situations will be given to you. You have to write their solution within 30 minutes. The situations will be real life like situations.
 
KEY POINTS ABOUT SRT
1. Try to solve all the 60 situations, be fast in writing.
2. Write proper solutions, the solution should be practical and must be clear.
3. Do not miss any situation in between; otherwise it may create bad impression.
 
 
SDT (SELF DESCRIPTION TEST)
In this you have to write a few paragraphs on the given questions;
1. What your parents think about you?
2. What your teachers/seniors think about you?
3. What your friends think about you?
4. Write about yourself?
5. Write the things which you want to improve in you?
15 min. are given to write down your solutions.
 
KEY POINTS ABOUT SD
1. This test give you a chance to write about you hence write it as beautifully as you can.
2. Try to write things like about your strengths etc. which you cannot write in your PIQ form.
3. Try to focus more on moral values and ethics.
4. Choose your weakness properly; also give your efforts to improve it and the improvements which have already been made by you.
5. Don’t write any weakness which can affect your chances in ssb.
