SSB PROCEDURE

Ssb (service selection board) interview is a personality –cum-interview test.
And it is a compulsory step to become a commissioned officer in Indian army (or Indian armed including both army and navy). It is one of the best techniques to judge a candidate’s suitability for becoming an army officer. This is not only a test to check a candidates mental abilities but it is a check of a candidate’s complete personality.
In this a candidate has to undergo several tasks for the duration of 5(in army its 5+1) days.
In the table the s day ssb schedule is given.

D DAY( day of arrival)	Identification check, filling up of PIQ( personnel information questionnaire) form, TA/DA form etc.
D+1(SCREENING)	2 sets of verbal, non-verbal test, followed by PPDT( picture perception and discussion test)
*only those who clear screening are retained for next 4 days for further testing. Rest all are sent back to their homes.
D+2 (PSYCHOLOGY)	TAT (thematic appreciation test) - 12 pictures, WAT (Word association test)-60 words, SRT (Situation reaction test) - 60 sits, and a self-description test.
D+3 ( GTO-1)	Group discussions ( on two topics) , Group planning exercise, Progressive group task, Half group task, Snake race, Lectuerette.
D+4 ( GTO-2)	Individual obstacles, command task, Final group task.
D+5( Conferencing)	Declaration of result

Those who get recommended have to further remain in the ssb for next 5-8 days for their medical checkup.
